Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Augur Sciences website and the ballistics calculator provided on it (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Reference use only — no warranty
The Service is provided free of charge for lawful sporting and reference purposes only, on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.
The calculator’s output is a mathematical prediction derived from the values you enter and from published reference drag models. It is not a measurement. Real-world results vary with your rifle, barrel, ammunition lot, sighting equipment, atmospheric conditions, and shooting technique.
Always verify with live fire
You must confirm every firing solution with live fire at a safe, known-distance range before relying on it. Never use a predicted solution as the sole basis for a shot, and never use it in any situation where an inaccurate result could cause injury or damage.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the safe and lawful handling of firearms and ammunition; for positively identifying your target and what lies beyond it; for ensuring you have a safe backstop and adequate range; and for complying with all laws and regulations that apply where you are shooting. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for judging whether the output is reasonable.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Augur Sciences and its officers, employees, and agents disclaim all liability for any loss, injury, death, damage, cost, or claim of any kind arising out of or connected with use of, or reliance on, the Service — whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise, and whether or not foreseeable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Bullet and ammunition data
The bullet library is compiled from publicly published manufacturer specifications and is offered as a convenience only. It may contain errors, omissions, or figures that are out of date, and manufacturers may revise their published data at any time. Always check specifications against the manufacturer’s current published data. Ballistic coefficients are only valid when used with the drag model they were measured against.
Trademarks and affiliation
All product names, brand names, and company names referenced on the Service are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners, and are used here solely to identify the products they describe. Augur Sciences is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any manufacturer named on the Service.
Availability and changes
The Service is under active development. It may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn at any time without notice, and its results may change between versions. We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
